Package Overview

Kathmandu :- The Capital and home to Nepal's only International Airport is a buzzing vibrant place, although like so many capital cities in the developing world it begins to show signs of congestion over the past few years, this hardly detracts from its mystery and celebration of life. Old blends with new ways…Welcome to Kathmandu.

Kathmandu is the core of Nepal's largest urban agglomeration located in the Kathmandu Valley , Kathmandu is the gateway to tourism in Nepal. Kathmandu was ranked third among the top 10 travel destinations on the rise in the world by TripAdvisor, and ranked first in Asia.

The city has a rich history, spanning nearly 2000 years, as inferred from inscriptions found in the valley. Religious and cultural festivities form a major part of the lives of people residing in Kathmandu. Most of Kathmandu's people follow Hinduism and many others follow Buddhism. The city of Kathmandu is named after Kasthamandap temple, that stood in Durbar Square. This temple, also known as Maru Satal (in ″Newar language″), was built in 1596 by King Laxmi Narsingh Malla.

According to legend, all the timber used to build the pagoda was obtained from a single tree. The structure unfortunately collapsed during the major earthquake in April 2015. Tourism is considered another important industry in Nepal.

The enchanting city with a population of around 95,000 has several beautiful lakes and offers stunning panoramic views of Himalayan peaks. In this region the mountains rise very quickly and within 30 km, the altitude rises from 1,000 m to over 7,500 m. As a result of this sharp rise in altitude the area of Pokhara has one of the highest rainfall rates in the country. Even within the city there is a manifest variation in rainfall between the south and the north of the city, the northern part of the city situated at the foothills of the mountains experiences proportionally higher amount of rainfall. The Seti Gandaki is the main river flowing through the city.

The calmness of lakes and the glory of the Himalayas rising behind them create vibrations of peace and magic. So today the city has not only become the starting point for most popular trekking and rafting destinations but also a place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Pokhara is part of a once vibrant trade route extending between India and Tibet.
