Munnar :- Munnar is a town and hill station located in the Idukki district of the south western Indian state of Kerala. Munnar is situated at around 1,600 metres (5,200 ft) above sea level in the Western Ghats range of mountains. The name Munnar is believed to mean "three rivers" referring to its location at the confluence of the Mudhirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly rivers. Munnar town is situated on the Kannan Devan Hills village in Devikulam taluk and is the largest panchayat in the Idukki district covering an area of nearly 557 square kilometres (215 sq mi).

Munnar is also known as Kashmir of South India and snuggled in the lap of such an alluring terrain, Munnar is one of the most beautiful hill stations in India and a visit to Kerala is never complete without a visit to Munnar. Rambling tea plantations, rising and falling hills swathe in bright green beauty of flourishing valleys are big attractions for families. The nearest major railway stations are at Ernakulam and Aluva (approximately 140 kilometres (87 mi) by road). The nearest airport is Cochin International Airport, which is 105 kilometres (65 mi) away.

Munnar is a hill station that experiences salubrious climate and does not have extreme climatic conditions like Shimla or Manali. One can say that the peak season for  Munnar is all throughout the year. The best time to visit Munnar would be October to November and from January to May when it is comfortably cold. There may be occasional rains which will give a misty experience of Munnar. September just after rains it would be like one of the best experiences in Munnar with verdant green tea gardens and good amount of water in waterfalls on the way to Munnar. 

Even during the summer months Munnar is a good place to travel to and the temperature seldom goes beyond 20º C. Therefore, when you travel to Munnar during summer months you will need to carry some light woollen clothes for protection against the cold weather. Winters are also an ideal time to visit Munnar if you love rains in the hills.Thekkady house of wildlife enjoys moderate climate throughout the year. But the best time to visit is from September To March. If you are travelling between April To May then the temperature will be on a hotter side during this period.

Thekkady :- Thekkady is placed at an altitude of 700m above the sea level. Located in the Idukki district of Kerala, Thekkady is a perfect retreat for anyone who loves adventure, fun, wildlife and nature. Nestled between the ever-green and semi-evergreen forests of Western Ghats, Thekkady has so many things to offer for the tourists who visit this place. In the biggest wildlife sanctuary, you can sight Asian elephants, bison, sambar deer, boars, tigers, leopards, wild squirrels, lion tailed monkeys etc. Ferry boats are arranged by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation and you can enjoy the wildlife and the surrounding nature while having a ride through the river.

The nearest town to Thekkady is Kumily, which is 4 kilometre apart. You can plan a calm walk though this town. This town is also a place for shopping. You can shop here handicrafts, spices and cloths. Thekkady is considered as a heaven for natural spices such as black pepper, cardamom, cinnamon,nutmeg, nutmace, ginger, and clove. Nearest Railway Station & Airport from Thekkady is located about 257 km (160 mi) from Trivandrum, 114 km from Madurai City and Madurai Airport, 145 km from Cochin International Airport and 114 km from Kottayam railway station. Thekkady is located near to Kerala-Tamil Nadu border.

Day Wise Itinerary

Day 1: Pick Up From Cochin Airport/Railway Station Hotel Check-in And Half Day Sightseeing

On arrival at Cochin Airport/Railway Station our representative will take you the hotel and check in the hotel, fresh up at the hotel and proceed to half day local sightseeing tour at Cochin, return back to the hotel in the evening have your dinner at the hotel and spend a comfortable night here. Breakfast for this day is not included in the package so only dinner would be served.

Day 2: Check-out From Cochin Hotel And Drive To Munnar Hotel Check-in And Half Day Sightseeing

Get up early morning have your breakfast at the hotel and check-out from here and proceed the Munnar, post lunch check-in the hotel and fresh up at the hotel and have half day local sightseeing of Munnar . Return back to the hotel in the evening and have your dinner at the hotel. Spend a comfortable night at the hotel.

Day 3: Full Day Local Sightseeing And Dinner With Bonfire Arranged For You

Get up early morning have your breakfast at the hotel and then proceed to full day sightseeing of Munnar the princess of hills and nearby areas. Return back to the hotel in the evening, have your dinner at the hotel with bonfire arranged for you and your family.

Day 4: Hotel Check-out From Munnar Hotel And Drive To Your Next Destination Thekkady And Hotel Check-in

Get up in the morning on time pack your bags, have your breakfast at the hotel and check-out from the hotel and proceed to your next holiday destination Thekkady. Post lunch check-in the hotel, fresh up at the hotel take a short rest here and go for half day local sightseeing here. Return back to the hotel in the evening have your dinner at the hotel and spend a comfortable night here.

Day 5: Full Day Sightseeing At Thekkady And Nearby Areas

Get up in the morning have your breakfast at the hotel and proceed to explore Thekkady, return back to the hotel in the evening have your dinner at the hotel and spend a night here.

Day 6: Hotel Check-out At Thekkady And Drop To Cochin Airport/Railway Station

Get up early in the morning pack your bags have your breakfast at the hotel and now it time to say bye bye to Thekkady. Check –out the hotel and precede to Cochin Airport/Railway Station, and your trip ends here at cochin with lots of sweet memories.

  • All transfers, excursions, sightseeing and travel as per itinerary in an air conditioned vehicle (The air conditions will work in plain areas only and not on hills).
  • Air condition is allowed in the moving position of the cab provided and not in the standing position if it is more than 10 minutes for the above mentioned itinerary.
