On arrival at the Bandaranaike International airport, you will be warmly greeted by your very own National guide and transferred Chilaw and visit Muneeshwaram Temple, Chilaw. Munneswaram temple is an important regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka. It has been in existence at least since 1000 CE, although myths surrounding the temple associate it with the popular Indian epic Ramayana, and its legendary hero-king Rama. The temple is one of the ancient Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Shiva in the region. Thereafter proceed to visit Mannavari Temple. Manavari is the first lingam installed and prayed by Lord Rama and till date this lingam is called as Ramalinga Shivan. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama. Thereafter proceed to Kandy and get you lunch at Indian restaurant. In the evening visit Kandy temple of tooth and four Dewala in temple complex. The three Devala are located in tooth temple complex and one Devala is out of that area among that four, Vishnu, Natha, patina, Devala on the north west of the tooth temple katharagama Devala is situated about 100m little away from tooth temple,in Kotugodella Street in Kandy city. After breakfast drive to Nuwaraeliya. En route visit Baktha hanuman temple. BAKTHA HANUMAN TEMPLE - The Sri Lanka branch of the Chinmaya mission, commited to promoting the Ramayana philosophy as well as Ramayana Trail pilgrimages, has built a temple with Hanuman as a presiding deity in Ramboda at the Kandy to Nuwara Eliya mainroad. Hanuman traditionally was not as popular among Sri Lankan Tamil devotees as he indeed is in India, because he devastated parts of the island with his burning tail. But in recent times Hindu missionaries and local Tamil spiritual leaders began building shrines for worshipping Hanuman in Sri Lanka, too. After breakfast commencing sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya including visit Seetha Amman Temple, Ashok Vatika, Victoria Park, and Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya. SEETHAI AMMAN TEMPLE - Seethai Amman Temple- Sri Seethai Amman temple is a unique temple it has been made at the place where Seeta Mata spent her days in the prison of Ravana aprox 5000 years ago. It is also unique in a way that it is one of the very few temples dedicated to Seeta .History has it that this is the place where Sita was held imprisoned by king Ravana, in the story of Ramayana. The temple has been reconstructed according to South Indian style and is set beautifully against a clear flowing stream. Lunch at Indian restaurant. Colombo was only a small seaport, which came into prominence in the 16th Century with the arrival of the Portuguese in 1505 and the development of it as a major Harbour took place during the British period. Colombo became the capital of Sri Lanka in 1815 after Kandyan Kingdom was ceded to the British. The remains of the buildings during the period of the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule are found in every area of the city. None of the Portuguese & Dutch fortifications are found today but some of their buildings and churches could be seen in the Fort & Pettah areas. Visit Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmith’s quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area where there is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings, the Kayman’s Gate with the Belfry at the original gate to enter the Fort, the Dutch Church of Wolfendhaal dating back to 1749, Also visit the BMICH (Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall) & see the replica of Avukana Buddha in front and the Independence Memorial. Spend overnight at three star hotel in Colombo on Half Board basis.
